Budgeteers Digging Out!

Okay, Mother Nature, point taken and noted. We will no longer talk about how much we enjoy the snow. I think we’ve got enough for a while…  Days like this sometimes makes us question our great anticipation to move back to Wisconsin! Our current zip code forecast for the week: blazing blizzard followed by blistering cold. Our former South Carolina zip code forecast for the week: mainly sunny, highs in the low to mid 50’s (yes, I really looked it up!). Keep in mind, they’re experiencing a cold snap too.

Even while lamenting ridiculous amounts of snowfall it’s easy to be reminded of the great reasons for being back home, especially when we’re gearing up for the holidays. Instead of racing from house to house for a few jam-packed days of stress, we get to linger with each family and enjoy the company. Carson gets to spend quality time with his cousins and extended family, instead of knowing them mainly from photos and a few phone calls. And probably the best part of all, Carson actually said to me the other day “How ‘bout some cheese? Yah-hey!” instead of “Hey y’all” – no disrespect to our Southern friends.

As we dig out from the snowfall, it’s fun to think of how we’ve been digging out of debt as well! Project Money has been one of our best experiences since moving home, and we know it has made our future even brighter, snowfall or sunshine. At least we’re dodging rain this time around!
