Crazy Week

It has been extremely busy around the Robertson Household! Normal life is fast-paced with us but this last week was one of the craziest! At my work (Sheila is writing this week) we offered a special through Living Social for our group classes. It took a lot of prep to pull it off and then when we went ‘live’ it was a lot of calls, e-mails and follow up to help potential clients get started. We still have 2 more days that we will offer if through our center – so we will know by this Wednesday how many new clients we will have and how many group class sessions we will be offering. So, that kept me on my toes (AND biting my nails…) this last week.

The other big event was through Monkey Business Institute. We were hired by a large company to do a Flash Mob for their annual holiday meeting. We only had 2 weeks to pull it off and it was a lot of work, planning and organizing. Did I mention that I was the one to do the planning, organizing, choreography, being the main contact and performing? Wowza! It was a great experience – AND it went off so well! I hope to be able to share the video of it next week. It also provided some extra income – hopefully that will help us win Project Money! Whenever we are able to bring in extra income we are splitting it 4 ways - 25% to reduce debt, 25% into savings, 25% towards vacation fund and 25% on a splurge. THIS time we are choosing to forgo the splurge and put it into savings to help boost the numbers for this ‘Game’ of P.M.

Finally the most important event this past week was Max’s 5th birthday. We had 22 people over to our house to help our little guy celebrate! It was so great to have family and friends out to our house. It was also great to have the party and gifts budgeted for. His birthday is so close to Christmas – it has gotten us in trouble in the past. Now we will always pre-plan for birthdays, parties, gifts and Christmas. Maybe that is the ‘fund’ that we will put the 25% that would have been for a splurge and help boost for the next birthday in our family.

Oh, riiiiiight. The next birthday is MY birthday! Get ready for a ‘Sheila-bration’ in March. Now we know that we’ll have a little stashed away for fun times in 2012.
