Eligibility Requirements
- To be eligible for Project Money 2010 you and your family:
- Must be a citizen(s) or legal resident(s) of the United States
- Must be a credit union member(s) or eligible to join the credit union and willing to open transactional accounts for purposes of monitoring contest results
- Must demonstrate a need for Project Money and a willingness to significantly improve your financial situation. For example to:
- Reduce debt to create a savings plan
- Create savings plan for retirement, tuition, home down payment
- Must be willing to develop a savings goal and provide monthly reports on progress and results
- Must be willing to work closely with Summit Credit Union Financial Coaching Team
- Must be willing to reveal and share financial situation with the public
- Must be comfortable being interviewed for print and electronic media discussing participation in Summit Credit Union’s Project Money 2010
- Must not have declared bankruptcy in the last 12 months
- Must not have caused Summit Credit Union a loss
- If selected as a participant in Summit Credit Union’s Project Money 2010, you must execute all waivers and release agreements required by Summit Credit Union
- Applications will only be considered if they are complete. Complete applications will include the following information:
- Completed personal information and story
- Completed personal financial information
- Signed waiver
To participate in this opportunity, please complete an application.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of credit union employees. The committee will select a pool of applicants to be interviewed. Prior to the interview, applicants will be subject to a background check. Those applications that pass the background check will be interviewed, and from that pool, the four participants will be chosen (in addition to any alternates). Throughout the remainder of the year, participants will work towards their goals working with financial coaches, posting blogs, completing various media interviews, attending educational sessions, etc. The contest will end December 31, 2010. A committee of credit union employees will review participants’ results in January 2011 and a winner will be determined. The winner will be announced in February 2011. Any and all materials sent to Summit Credit Union in support of our application will be retained by Summit Credit Union, will become the property of Summit Credit Union’s Project Money 2010, and will not be returned to you regardless of whether or not you are selected as a participant. Any expenses you incur during the application process, including postage and materials preparation are your responsibility. Summit Credit Union will not reimburse you for these expenses. Only one application per individual or family is permitted. All decisions of Summit Credit Union are final, absolute and not subject to inquiry.The $10,000 prize will be awarded to the individual/family that earns the most points during the contest.
Points will be awarded in three categories:
- Increase in savings (40%) – based on the percentage increase
- Debt reduction (40%) – based on the percentage decrease
- Participation in program events (20%) – examples of program events include: educational sessions, coaching meetings, submitting web blogs, etc.
