Roommate Retreat

My roommates moved to sunny South Carolina this past Monday.  They moved out while I was at work, so when I finally got home I realized that I was a bit down about their departure.  Being busy with work all day I had kind of forgotten about the whole thing.

I’m not going to say that having a roommate, much less two, is easy, especially in my house and at my age, but we made it work and it was a necessity.  It was an easy way to generate income and in all honesty, having the company around was really nice.  I think that is why I was down.  I realized that it was Kobi (my dog) and me alone, again.

The great news is I finally have my house back.  I loved being able to walk in and know the TV was available to watch or that I could actually get in the kitchen and cook food. I also enjoy knowing that my house will look exactly the same as I left it that morning…ahhhh!

However, there is something to be said about the extra income and having people and noise around.  I love having people in my life, so it was comforting knowing they were there, plus you feel a bit more secure.

However, the time has come.  I’m casually looking for another roommate, but I think it’s time I take a few months to myself and enjoy my house.  I’m going to see how my bills and discretionary income pan out for a couple of months and go from there.
