Library…the Necessity of Life
Over the weekend, I went with a friend to the Madison Public Library. My friend spends a lot of time in the car and was tiring of music, so she started checking out books on CD from the library.
When we passed through the doors, I realized that it had been a long time since I had walked into a library. For all I know, it may have been 13 years ago, while in college, that I last stepped foot in one. What a shame!
I decided that instead of always buying books, CD’s, and books on CD (which can cost upwards of $30), I would see if I still had a library card to start checking things out and I didn’t! It’s awful, but I laughed. I realized that there was this great building filled with so much history, resources, entertainment, etc. that I wasn’t tapping into. It was almost embarrassing to admit I didn’t have a library card, considering the main library is 50 feet from my place of work. My friend waited patiently as I completed a form and 5 minutes later I had my library card in hand and to books on CD in the other.
I have shared over and over how Summit Credit Union is a great resource and how it’s important to know what is available to you, well, add the library as another resource.

Isn't the library great? We love our local branch - they have awesome children's programs too! Especially as we head into colder weather, the kids area is a great change of pace for Carson, and gets us out of the house. I've even found books I need for school there for free instead of mega$$$... love it; glad you've tapped into the fun too!
