Black Friday wasn’t so Black
How can I hate Black Friday, but also love it? I get excited and see all these amazing deals (the part I love), then my emotions take hold and off to the stores I go (the not so good part).
The start of my saving grace began with the fact that my Thanksgiving plans sent me out of town to a small community (30 miles from the next large city) that didn’t have most of the stores I’m drawn to. I basically had Wal-Mart, Menards (yes, I love my power tools), and some smaller chains. If removing myself, physically, from a situation is a way to help myself, I’ll take it.
By the time I got home, I had a couple of Christmas gifts in hand, some wrapping paper and a couple of household items that I did need. I was proud of myself. I did have an item or two in my hand, that I really wanted, but I chose to walk around the store, take my time in deciding whether or not to go straight to the register and ended up putting those items back.
I won’t say I was perfect, as I did buy a couple of things that weren’t necessities, but I didn’t do “damage” like I’ve done in the past.
Another Black Friday put to rest!

Good for you, Amy! I'm impressed with your willpower. I was awakened at 4:15 a.m. (By my cat. True story.) & got a lot of deals - but also spent too much.
